My inspiration for today's card came from the Mojo Monday website. Here is this week's card sketch challenge. You can click on the sketch below and see other cards that were also inspired from this sketch.
Normally, I follow the sketch completely, but today I went slightly outside of the box.
The Falling in Love Designer Series Paper is dangerous. I cannot get enough of it. Do I have a problem if bought two packages and they are almost gone? Oh, maybe not because I used it for swap cards, stamp club cards and stamp therapy class cards this month.
Base: 5 1/2" x 8 1/2" of Sahara Sand Cardstock. Score at 4 1/4".
Second Layer: 4" x 5 1/4" of Very Vanilla Cardstock. Adhere a 6" piece of gold 3/8" Metallic Ribbon along the left side.
Third Layer: 3 3/4" x 5" of Gold Foil Sheet. Put the gold sheet inside the Celebrations Embossing Folder and put through the Big Shot.
Fourth Layer: Two of the square Stitched Shapes Framelits from the Falling in Love Designer Series Paper.
The finishing touch to this card was adding one of the Falling in Love Embellishments with Glue Dots. I changed the color from vanilla to gold by pressing it in a VersaMark Ink Pad and pouring Gold Embossing Powder over it. A few seconds of using the Heat Tool and it was done. I wanted it shinier, so I used some Gold Wink of Stella on it. NOTE: I used a tweezer on the back side of the embellishment to hold it.
It is a widespread Wednesday for me, as my studio is full of things to pack for a four-day scrapbooking retreat. I'm determined to get the boxes of old photographs out of the basement and into albums. This project is huge, but I've been working at it little by little. This year I will be working on it until it is completed. I'm hoping that being surrounded by other scrapbookers will keep me highly entertained and motivated!
Check back on Friday for the Creative Inking Blog Hop!
