When I saw the A Little Wild Stamp Set and coordinating Little Loves Framelits demonstrated at OnStage last April, I knew they would eventually end up in my online shopping cart. They are simply A-D-O-R-A-B-L-E! The stamp set and framelits were designed to make gift tags with front and back images of three different animals. It was out-of-the-box time for me, as I decided to design three square cards and a 12" x 12" scrapbook layout using the stamp set and framelits.
Card Base: 4 1/4" x 8 1/2" Crumb Cake Cardstock, scored at 4 1/4".
Second Layer: 3 1/2" x 3 1/2" Whisper White Cardstock
Third Layer: 3 1/4" x 3 1/4" Basic Black Cardstock
Fourth Layer: Crumb Cake Cardstock using the 3" circle from the Stitched Shapes Framelits.
Fifth Layer: The animal images were stamped with Memento Black Ink on Watercolor Paper. The images were cut by using the framelits and putting them through the Big Shot.
Did you notice the framelits also cut a tab with a hole in it? That is perfect to thread a piece of Linen Thread through it and attach the gift tag to a gift.
The elephant was watercolored in Basic Gray and Blushing Bride colors using an AquaPainter.
The bear was watercolored in Crumb Cake and the hive and bees were watercolored in Daffodil Delight colors using an AquaPainter. A Chalk Marker was used to color the wings on the bees.
The lion was watercolored in Daffodil Delight and Pumpkin Pie colors using an AquaPainter.
As you can see, I designed this scrapbook layout similar to the card layouts and also using the same colors. I used only the fronts of the three animals, cut off the tabs and attached them with Dimensionals.
I used Paper Snips to cut out the words "wild about the" that were stamped in Memento Black Ink on Whisper White Cardstock. Wondering where I got the word "the" from? Lucky for me that I could cut out "the" from the word "there" in the "hello there, honey bear" image. I attached the three words onto three 1" Circle Punches out of Crumb Cake Cardstock. They were attached with Dimensionals to a banner from Basic Black Cardstock using the Banner Triple Punch.
The three chevron punches were a total accident. The Basic Black Cardstock banner was too long, so I inserted it back into the Banner Triple Punch. A perfect chevron appeared on the table. Awesome! The chevron punches draw your eyes across the journaling block down to the word "zoo". I tied two pieces of Linen Thread on the banner.
I layered Whisper White Cardstock letters under the Basic Black Cardstock "zoo" letters using the Large Letter Framelits Dies.
