Welcome to this month's Blog Hop featuring projects with a birthday theme. My project is a 12" x 12" traditional scrapbook layout using the Amazing Birthday Stamp Set. My friend is celebrating her 50th birthday, so my color theme is gold, black and white.
Did you know that gold is one of the newest color trends? It has been said, "be bold and go gold!" Add some gold accents to your papercrafting projects and you can claim to be trendy!
Most of the elements on this layout were heat embossed with Gold Embossing Powder or stamped with a Black Memento Ink Pad. The three black rectangles on this layout are for the photographs that I'll take at our lunch next week.
Here are some close-up's of this layout:
I hand-cut the banners and used the 1 3/4" Scallop Circle Punch and 1 1/4" Circle Punch.
The happy birthday words were also hand-cut and I used the Project Life Corner Punch and 1 1/4" Circle Punch.
A sweet bow from the Gold 1/8" Ribbon and a piece of Gold Fancy Foil Designer Vellum completes this layout.
Some of my favorite memories at Convention in July was meeting the other Creative Inking Blog Hoppers. I had extra squeals when I saw Diane Evans and Lisa Curcio, because their blogs are my next-door neighbor blogs in this Blog Hop. They always have such beautiful projects to share every month. Check out their projects and the other creative birthday projects throughout the Blog Hop.
