Welcome to this month's Blog Hop featuring projects using sneak peeks from the 2017 Holiday Catalog. My project is a greeting card using the Painted Harvest Stamp Set and coordinating Leaf Punch. This stamp set is already quite popular among demonstrators, who got to preorder it on August 1. (One of the sweet perks we get as demonstrators.) As much as I love the sunflower images, I decided to focus on the leaves for my project.
A clean and simple card with realistic-looking leaves. To get the different tones of ink on the leaves, I stamped the line image first. Then I inked up the solid image, stamped it once on scratch paper, and then stamped it on top of the line image. This way, you only need three ink pads for the leaves instead of six.
To get realistic leaves, lay the punched out leaves on the Pierce Mat. Put the Bone Folder in the center of each leaf and press down. The leaves will slightly bend forward.
Three Mini Dimensionals were perfect to use to attach the leaves to the sentiment.
I stamped the sentiment in Chocolate Chip Ink on Whisper White Cardstock. It was punched out with the Pretty Label Punch. I took the Paper Snips and cut the top and bottom off of the punched out sentiment. Doesn't this remind you of a larger version of the retired Word Window Punch? That was a fun discovery.
