Today's project is the final one I presented at the Creative Connections event. Are you breathing a sigh of relief? Are you thinking "is she ever going to be done"? LOL! Since many people think the Painted Harvest Stamp Set is all about sunflowers, which you know by now isn't true, I decided to design a 3D sunflower project.
Digging around in my craft cupboards, I found a canning jar with a silver lid. Using a VersaMark Ink Pad, Copper Embossing Powder and a Heat Tool, I changed the outside of the lid to copper.
Do this in sections and hold the metal lid with needle-nose pliers.
To make the sunflowers, stamp four of the the flower images in Crushed Curry Ink on Whisper White Cardstock. Cut them out with four different sizes of the scalloped circles from the Layering Circle Framelits that were put through the Big Shot. Cut sections of all the scalloped circles with Paper Snips from the outside edges towards the center. Carefully curl the sections with a Bone Folder to give dimension to the sunflowers. Attach all the sunflowers to the jar lid with Dimensionals.
Use a tweezer to hold the bottom of a white bow from the Season of Glitz Mini Gift Bows. Press the bow into a VersaMark Ink Pad and pour Copper Embossing Powder over it. Use the Heat Tool, at a distance, to slowly and carefully heat the embossing powder until it melts. You will probably have to repeat this process to cover all of the bow. Attach the copper bow to the center of the sunflowers with Dimensionals.
Remember the words "slowly" and "carefully". I melted my first bow.
The sentiment was heat embossed with VersaMark Ink, Copper Embossing Powder and a Heat Tool. It was cut out with the Stitched Shapes Framelit Dies. put through the Big Shot. It was layered with a scallop oval from a Copper Foil Sheet and an oval from Whisper White Cardstock. These were cut out from the Oval Layering Framelit Dies, put through the Big Shot.
The copper leaf on the tag is from a gold Foil Snowflake. Once again, use a VersaMark Ink Pad, Copper Embossing Powder and a Heat Tool to change it to copper. Use Paper Snips to cut out a section and attach it with SNAIL Adhesive. From the Regal Enamel Shapes, add a Crushed Curry circle to the copper leaf. Use a 1/8" Circle Punch in the corner of the tag and thread the 1/4" Copper Trim through the hole and tie around the jar lid.
Now you get to run out the store and find yellow candy to match the sunflowers (Banana Laffy Taffies, Slo-Poke Suckers, Lemon Drops). Did I ever think the day would come, when you bought candy to match a project? Not me!

Late last night, I was inspired to finish the fifth card design for my October events. Whew! Today is lunch with two friends. We purposely schedule lunch twice a year, otherwise we would never see each other. This weekend, from Friday through Sunday, I'm on a retreat with the church ladies. Some of my papercrafting projects are coming with me to work on during our free time. Have a tasty Thursday and a warmhearted weekend!
