Are you a quilter? I've made one quilt in my life, which took me two years to complete. And, it was a quick strip log cabin pattern. Haha! I love quilts, but don't love making them. But, if a quilt pattern is created with cardstock, I'm all over that. Today's projects are using a patchwork quilt background created with the Tailored Tag Punch. This punch is found on page 45 of the Occasions Catalog, in the True Gentlemen Suite of products.
Our youngest grandgirl turned eight in January. I wanted to create a unique scrapbook layout for some of her birthday photographs. Recently, she told me that pink is her favorite color, so I decided to use three of the Stampin' Up! pink colors: Powder Pink, Blushing Bride and Pink Pirouette.
On the left side of the layout, I added the patchwork design. It didn't take long to see the big difference in these three pink colors. In the middle of the layout, I added three photo boxes that are 3 1/2" x 4 3/4". On the right side of the layout, I added the title.
The Large Letters Framelits were cut through the Big Shot out of the three pink cardstock colors. The flowers are from the Petals & More Thinlits Dies, cut through the Big Shot on Smoky Slate Cardstock. One leaf was cut off and saved. These were attached with the Fine-Tip Glue Pen for a tone-on-tone look. Rhinestone Jewels were added to the center of the flowers.
To add interest to the title, the negative images were used from the Large Letters Framelits that were cut through the Big Shot.
The "8" is cut from the Large Numbers Framelits through the Big Shot. This was attached to the Starburst Punch and the 2 1/4" Circle Punch. The two leaves, that were cut off and saved from the Petals & More Thinlits Dies used above, are attached under the circles with the Fine-Tip Glue Pen.
Since I had punched out too many of the Tailored Tag Punch, I decided to create a patchwork background on a card.
Card Base: 5 1/2" x 8 1/2" Smoky Slate Cardstock, scored at 4 1/4"
First Layer: 3 7/8" x 5 1/8" Pink Pirouette Cardstock
Second Layer: 3 3/4" x 5" Powder Pink Cardstock. Cover this with SNAIL Adhesive and attach the three pink Tailored Tag Punches. Trim off the punches that extend over the edges.
The flowers are from the Petals & More Thinlits Dies, cut through the Big Shot on Smoky Slate Cardstock. These were attached with the Fine-Tip Glue Pen. The final touch is Rhinestone Jewels to the center of the flowers.

The Super Bowl hoopla is leaving Minnesota today. Even though I'm not interested in sports (other than my grandgirls), it was amazing to see the transformation that took place in the last few weeks. It appears today is going to be a mundane Monday for some people, as everything starts to return to normal. Thank you for making my blog a part of your day!!!
