Since I have been papercrafting for a long time, I forget that beginners to this craft don't own everything. When I want to add texture to a card, I use an embossing folder put through the Big Shot. If you are a new papercrafter, a Big Shot is usually one of those "someday" dream purchases.
When designing this card, I wanted it to be a back-to-the-basics card. Stamps. Paper. Ink. I used the Perennial Birthday Stamp Set, which is one of my favorite sets. And, the good news is, it is returning to the 2018-2019 Annual Catalog! Woo hoo!!!
The sentiments were stamped on the left and right sides of the card, which left space to stamp the floral images in the center. For the texture, I scored horizontal lines on the Whisper White Cardstock every quarter inch below the floral images. Scoring can be made with either a Stampin' Trimmer or the Simply Scored Scoring Tool.
Card Base: 5 1/2" x 8 1/2" Whisper White Cardstock, scored at 4 1/4"
First Layer: 3 7/8" x 5 1/8" Old Olive Cardstock
Second Layer: 3 3/4" x 5" Whisper White Cardstock
The scoring adds a touch of texture and style to this simple card. The final touch is to add Pearls to the center of the flowers.
