Today's project is a birthday card using the Butterfly Basics Stamp Set, but no butterflies were used on this card. [insert smile] When designing this card, I wanted to use the fern image to create my own background paper. Yes, another way to try and cure my spring fever, but without using flowers.
I inked up the fern image in the Always Artichoke Ink Pad and stamped it three to four times on the Pear Pizzazz Cardstock. I twisted and turned the fern image to randomly cover all of the Pear Pizzazz Cardstock.
On the inside of the card, I inked up the fern image in the Always Artichoke Ink Pad, stamped off once on scratch paper, and stamped the image on the Pear Pizzazz Cardstock. The sentiment was inked up in the Always Artichoke Ink Pad and stamped on top of the fern image. Just like the front of the card has contrasting images, now the inside does too.
Card Base: 4 1/4" x 11" Always Artichoke Cardstock, scored at 5 1/2"
First Layer: 4" x 5 1/4" Pear Pizzazz Cardstock
Second Layer: 1 1/2" x 4" Always Artichoke Cardstock
Third Layer: 1 1/4" x 4" Very Vanilla Cardstock
Inside: 4" x 5 1/4" Pear Pizzazz Cardstock
The sentiment on the outside of the card was stamped in Always Artichoke Ink on the Third Layer. It was attached to the Second Layer with SNAIL Adhesive. Use the Leaf Punch to punch out the leaves from scrap pieces of Pear Pizzazz and Always Artichoke Cardstock. Offset the two leaves a bit and use Glue Dots to adhere the leaves together. Use three Mini Dimensionals to attach the leaves to the front of the card. The last touch is to use two pieces of Old Olive Baker's Twine and tie them on the leaf stems. Voila!
The Butterfly Basics Stamp Set and the Always Artichoke Cardstock and Ink Pads are all retiring, so don't delay if these items are on your Wish List. After my dentist appointment and haircut today, I'm off for a weekend retreat with some of my team members and other papercrafting friends. I have an unfinished, ten-year-old scrapbooking project that I hope to get completed. Wish me luck! Have a thrilling Thursday!!!
