One of My Card Swaps using the Daisy Lane Stamp Set

 

About a month ago, I participated in a card swap with some other Stampin' Up! demonstrators. When thinking about what type of card I wanted to design, I noticed the package of Mosaic Mood Specialty Designer Series Paper (DSP) that I had received free at OnStage in April. I definitely wanted to use that gorgeous paper, but I had a limited number of new stamp sets to use from the 2019-2020 Annual Catalog. Much to my surprise, I paired the Daisy Lane Stamp Set with the DSP and it ending up working out well.

 

All 20 of my card swaps.

 

Do you notice the shiny, embossed images on this DSP? That's why the word "specialty" is added to its name. 

 

 

Here is a 34 second video showing you both sides of this DSP.

 

Directions:

Card Base:  5 1/2" x 6 3/4" Garden Green Cardstock, scored at 4 1/4"

First Layer:  2 1/4" x 5 1/4" Blushing Bride Cardstock

Second Layer:  2" x 5" Mosaic Mood Specialty Designer Series Paper

Third Layer:  Place a scrap of Garden Green Cardstock on a scalloped Layering Ovals Framelit and put through a Die Cutting Machine. Attach with Dimensionals to the Second Layer.

Fourth Layer:  Place a scrap of Blushing Bride Cardstock on a Layering Ovals Framelit and put through a Die Cutting Machine.

Fifth Layer:  Place a scrap of Very Vanilla on a Layering Ovals Framelit and put through a Die Cutting Machine. Stamp the floral image in Blushing Bride Ink. Then stamp the sentiment over the floral image in Garden Green Ink.

Inside Layer:  4" x 5 1/4" Very Vanilla Cardstock

 

Even though the floral images on the DSP are roses, having the daisy image in the same color as the roses was my sneaky way of making them match. And, stamping the sentiment over the daisy image, you don't really notice it isn't a rose.

 

 

Here is your bonus project. The exact same supplies, but the card is vertical instead of horizontal. It is fun to have a versatile card layout.

Last Saturday's Annual Catalog Product Extravaganza open house was a success. The new location is beautiful and spacious. I'm purposely not showing you photographs of the displays at each table. Seeing the beautiful displays is the bonus of attending this event. Thank you to all my stamping friends for attending! It was wonderful to see you and have a chance to get caught up.

Seven Handmade Cards using the Daisy Lane Stamp Set

 

I had some leftover supplies from a card that I showed you back on April 19 (click to see it). You know what that means! Time to challenge myself to recycle these supplies. Today's cards are using the Daisy Lane Stamp Set, the Daisy Punch and the Medium Daisy Punch. I designed seven cards using the same supplies except for some accessories.

Directions:

Card Base: 5 1/2" x 7 1/4" Daffodil Delight Cardstock, scored at 4 1/4". Place the 3" front section inside the Layered Leaves Embossing Folder and put through the Die Cutting Machine.

First Layer:  3 1/2" x 4 3/4" Crushed Curry Cardstock, which is attached with Dimensionals to the embossed Card Base.

Second Layer:  3 1/8" x 4 1/2" Daffodil Delight Cardstock. Wrap Whisper White Solid Baker's Twine at the bottom and tie in a knot.

Third Layer:  3" x 4" Whisper White Cardstock. Stamp images in Crushed Curry and Pear Pizzazz Ink Pads.

Creative Inking Blog Hop - Favorite New Catalog Product Suite

 

This month's Blog Hop participants are creating projects using our favorite product suites in the 2019-2020 Annual Catalog. Tough decision on which one to choose, so I will go with the first suite I ordered, the Bird Ballad Suite found on pages 91 and 92. The products from the Bird Ballad Suite that I used on this project were the Bird Ballad Designer Series Paper, the Stitched Nested Labels Dies and the 3/8" Scalloped Lace Trim.

 

 

This is a 6 1/2" x 6 1/2" wooden shadowbox that was in my craft stash. It was fun to decorate it using the Bird Ballad Designer Series Paper (DSP). This DSP has beautifully colored images.

 

 

 

 

Here is a 35 second video showing both sides of this DSP.

Directions:

First Layer:  Adhere 4" x 6" DSP to the shadowbox using Tear & Tape Adhesive.

Second Layer:  Use the Stitched Nested Labels Die on Pool Party Cardstock and cut on a Die Cutting Machine. 

Third Layer: Use the Stitched Nested Labels Die on Whisper White Cardstock and cut on a Die Cutting Machine. Attach the Second and Third Layers together with SNAIL Adhesive. Attach to the First Layer with Dimensionals.

Fourth Layer:  Use Paper Snips to cut out the bird image from the DSP. Attach to the Third Layer with Mini Dimensionals. Add two Flower Faceted Gems. 

 

Directions:

First Layers:  Adhere three pieces of 1 7/8" x 2" DSP to the shadowbox using Tear & Tape Adhesive. I cut some sticks and adhered them with the Multipurpose Liquid Glue.

Second Layers:  Use Paper Snips to cut out the bird images from the DSP. Attach to the First Layers with Mini Dimensionals. 

 

The final touch is to put Tear & Tape Adhesive around the front of the shadowbox. Add the 3/8" Scalloped Lace Trim on the four edges and trim with the Paper Snips. Did you notice that this project used no rubber stamps? That is rare for me!

Creating with the It Starts With Art Stamp Set

 

Any papercrafter would enjoy the It Starts With Art Stamp Set on page 54 of the Annual Catalog. The images are things we use to create our "art". This card was one of the first cards I made using new products from the Annual Catalog.

 

 

 

The Baker's Twine inspired the color scheme of Sahara Sand, Night of Navy, Rococo Rose and Whisper White. The sentiment gave me the idea of adding some sparkle with Basic Rhinestone Jewels and Wink of Stella (which never shows up in my photographs).

 

Directions:

Card Base:  5 1/2" x 8 1/2" Sahara Sand Cardstock, scored at 4 1/4".

First Layer:  4" x 5 1/4" Night of Navy Cardstock. Put inside the Button Button Embossing Folder and run it through the Big Shot.

Second Layer: 3 1/4" x 4 5/8" Rococo Rose Cardstock

Third Layer: 3" x 4 3/8" Whisper White Cardstock. Use Stitched Rectangles Die on cardstock and run it through the Big Shot. Stamp image in Night of Navy Ink. Color with Stampin' Blends. Add Wink of Stella to the heart ribbon image.

 

 

Fourth Layer:  Scrap of Sahara Sand Cardstock. Stamp sentiment in Night of Navy Ink and use the Stitched Nested Labels Dies in the Big Shot to cut out. Wrap the Baker's Twine around the Second and Third Layers. Attach the Fourth Layer with Dimensionals. Add two Rhinestone Basic Jewels. The Third Layer is attached with Dimensionals.

Wednesday was an impromptu cousin day with all three grandgirls. This probably won't happen the rest of summer break, so I treasured every minute with them. Last night, Dan and I went with our daughter, son-in-law and our two oldest grandgirls to the St. Paul Saints Baseball game. We sat behind home plate (perfect), the weather was sunny and in the 70's (perfect) and we celebrated an early Father's Day for Dan and Chad (perfect).

Birthday Card using the Delightful Day Stamp Set

 

It was so much fun to pair the Delightful Day Stamp Set with the Garden Lane Designer Series Paper (DSP). The stamp set can be used for birthdays, weddings, baby, new home and gift giving. The DSP matches five different green colors and Whisper White. Both of these products provide a lot of versatility. Today's card was one of my recent card swaps.

 

 

I also paired the Stitched Rectangles Dies with the Stitched Shapes Dies.

 

Directions:

Card Base:  5 1/2" x 8 1/2" Whisper White Cardstock, scored at 4 1/4".

First Layer:  4" x 5 1/4" Pear Pizzazz Cardstock. Place inside the Layered Leaves Embossing Folder and run it through the Big Shot.

Second Layer:  3" x 4 1/4" Whisper White Cardstock. Place the Stitched Rectangle Die on the cardstock and run it through the Big Shot.

Third Layer: 2 1/2" x 3 3/4" DSP. Wrap the Magnolia Lane Linen Ribbon in the middle and attach on the back.

 

Tip:

You can fold the Third Layer (DSP) in half and cut it with Paper Snips. Turn one piece over and display two different sides of the DSP for a unique look, as shown below.

 

 

Fourth Layer:  Scrap of Whisper White Cardstock. Lay the 2 3/8" circle from the Stitched Shapes Die and run it through the Big Shot. Stamp the sentiment in Mossy Meadow Ink. Attach with Dimensionals.

 

The Magnolia Lane Linen Ribbon is the perfect neutral color for this card.

 

This simple layout is easy to recreate with different Designer Series Papers and other stamp sets. Happy creating!
