In September, my hubby and I went to our first sunflower field. It is somewhat surprising that at our ages, we had never done this before. Our impromptu visit was one of our summer highlights.
After this experience, sunflowers have a special meaning to me. It's probably no surprise, but I had to create some sunflower cards when I got home.
Digging in my craft cupboards, I found sunflowers in the Flowers for Every Season 6x6 Designer Series Paper! Yippee!!! Here are two cards I created with this Designer Series Paper.
The Designer Series Paper has two different patterns, so it makes creating easy. I love the look of stitching on the rectangles from the Forever Flourishing Dies. It must be from the many years I used to sew.
The sunflower was made with the Medium Daisy Punch. I went for a nontraditional center for the sunflower by using the Misty Moonlight In Color Enamel Dots.
Four In Colors were used for this card: Bumblebee, Misty Moonlight, Cinnamon Cider and Just Jade. The Whisper White 1/4" Crinkled Seam Binding Ribbon covers where the two pieces of Designer Series Paper meet.
I used the Forever Flourishing Dies for the flower. The sentiment on both cards is from the Itty Bitty Greetings Stamp Set.
It is fun to create something by being inspired from a new experience. Now, to answer the question on my blog title, Yes! Do you have any sunflower stories you want to share in the comments below?
